Using the time code convertor

The convertor only works with htm or html files, and only converts time codes which are in the format 00:00:00, i.e. six digits interspersed with two colons.

To convert the time codes in a Word document, you must first convert it to htm or html. Proceed as follows:

1 - Open the Word document and go to File, Save As.
2 - In the "Save as Type" drop-down menu, select "web page" or htm or html, then click Save.
3 - On this web page, in the row "Original tape first time code", enter a time code from the original tape (in fact it does not need to be the first time code).
4 - In the row "Sound file first time code", enter the sound file time code that equates to the same point in the recording as the time code you entered in the row above.
5 - Browse for the htm or html document, and click Submit.
6 - The converted document will appear in your browser. You can either copy and paste it into Word, or go to File, Save As, then save it over your original html document, and then open the html document in Word and resave it as a Word document.

Please telephone on 020 7022 4814 if you have any difficulties.
